Page Foundation Scholarship

The ND Club of MN Page Scholarship Fund is one of our Club’s most significant accomplishments. The program was started by Alan Page (’67), a distinguished alumni and a member of our Club. It provides scholarships to students of color from MN attending ND. The Page scholars are required to mentor kindergarten - 8th grade students of color while attending the University, and in turn, mentor other Page scholars after graduation. This encourages other minority students to consider ND when looking at colleges.

The Club focuses a great deal of time and energy to this program each year. The Club holds its annual Golf Tournament to raise funds for the program. In 2008, the Club held its 16th Annual Golf Tournament which raised approximately $12,000 for the Page Scholarship Fund. Note: Alumni donations to this program now count toward meeting the minimum donation required to be eligible for the ND alumni football ticket lottery.

The Club’s Alumni Schools’ volunteers work to identify schools and teachers that may help us find potential Page scholars and to encourage students of color to consider attending ND. As part of this effort, the Club hosts ND Information Nights and Guidance Counselor Breakfasts.   And, the Club tries to sponsor at least one teacher, from a very diverse school, to attend the Excellence in Teaching Conference each year.

In addition, Club members, including Board of Directors, are active with the Page Education Foundation of Minnesota. They serve as mentors to minority students attending MN post-secondary colleges, universities and vocational schools.
